Today is the 1st of May; we had a dusting of snow an hour or so ago. Briefly the forest looked like a chef had dusted it with powdered sugar, very pretty. At this time of year, it didn't last an hour, it's now all gone.
Locals claim it can snow here any month. In the 30 years we've summered here, we've never seen snow in July and August here on the valley floor. A dusting in June or September sure, but never in July and August.
I'm not complaining, you understand. We're volunteers, this is what we choose to do. At 6300 ft. elevation we aren't much worried about global warming.
