Barring further cataclysmic occurrences, Kamala Harris will be the Democratic nominee for president in 2024. Granted, this is a year when "cataclysmic occurrences" seem almost routine, but let's assume for the purpose of discussion that they're over for this cycle.
It is important to establish that when any individual agrees to be a candidate for office, they volunteer to be the target of often unfair criticism. No one is forced to subject themself to this abuse, but those who make the choice can't legitimately complain when criticism happens.
Kamala is a person of color and a woman, two categories which intersectionality wrongly argues are beyond criticism because of past (and perhaps present) discrimination. However, political candidates are ipso facto legitimate targets of criticism, regardless of race or gender.
My purpose here is to make clear that criticism of candidate Kamala Harris and her VP running mate will happen in this blog. Allegations of racism and misogyny will be ignored as beneath contempt.
