Queen Elizabeth II has died, at age 96 after a 70 year reign. She most certainly joins the pantheon of Britain's greatest queens, and indeed of its greatest monarchs.
Elizabeth became queen while I was still a "tween" and has reigned my entire adolescent and adult life. As long as I have paid attention to such matters, there has been no other. Her serene calm will be missed.
