On Thursday night, speaking at Independence Hall in Philadelphia, President Biden read the following off his teleprompter:
MAGA Republicans do not respect the Constitution. They do not believe in the rule of law. They do not recognize the will of the people. They refuse to accept the results of a free election.
To which he added:
They promote authoritarian leaders, and they fan the flames of political violence that are a threat to our personal rights, to the pursuit of justice, to the rule of law, to the very soul of this country.
On Friday, answering a question about Trump supporters being a threat, asked by Fox News' Peter Doocy, the President said:
You keep trying to make that case. I don’t consider any Trump supporters a threat to the country.
My source for these quotes is Scott Johnson posting at Power Line.
Did Biden preview and understand what he read off the teleprompter Thursday night? Did he disagree with it but was afraid to ask for changes?
It appears his answer to Doocy wasn't scripted. Did that polar opposite sentiment represent what Biden actually believes? Does he have any functioning short-term memory, any actual beliefs?
I suspect Jill Biden and Edith Wilson have much in common. It appears Joe is either too addled or too lazy to do the job of President and leader of his Party.
After a life in politics, he finally gets the top job and discovers he got it too late in life. I could almost feel sorry for the poor guy. I sure as heck feel sorry for our country.
