The Democratic Party Convention ongoing in Chicago is a farce. Their party platform contains multiple references to President Biden and to reelecting him to a "second term," something that we all know won't happen.
Everything important that normally happens at a convention has already been done before this one even started. They consider the convention to be so perfunctory that they didn't even bother to change the platform wording to reflect their pre-ordained candidate.
If they consider it so unimportant, who am I to disagree? I don't intend to watch it, and will hear more about it than I care to on the evening news.
