The public unrest in the U.K. is focused on the government's inability or disinterest in controlling illegal immigration. Writing for the Brussels Signal, Conrad Black quotes Dominic Green about the U.K.'s new Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer. The article where the Green quote originally appeared is behind a Wall Street Journal paywall. Green said:
Mr. Starmer already has reaped more chaos than he can manage. Mass immigration and multiculturalism have failed. The police have lost the public. The government has lost the plot. And the English have had enough.
Coincidentally, Mr. Green just attained U.S. citizenship, after working here with a green card for some years. That should make it more difficult for Starmer's government to punish Green for his views.
