Further Update

The DrsC are in SLC and my doctor says my head wound is healing, should heal up from here without additional intervention. This is very good news indeed.

A couple of weeks ago we got gloomy news from another doc (not the main one) and I’ve been a tad down because of it.  I’d begun to consider it could be something I’d have to live with indefinitely.

I’ll end up with a scar atop my head but likely nothing worse.  I wouldn’t describe myself as giddy tonight, but very, very pleased certainly.

Now we start getting ready for not one, but two cruises this fall. The first down nearly the entire navigable length of the Mississippi River from St. Paul, MN to New Orleans, LA.

I grew up reading Tom Sawyer and Huck Finn and their adventures on the legendary Mississippi. I finally get to go “steamboatin’.”

The second is one we’ve done before, Seattle to Sydney, Australia, by way of various tropical isles. I will travel blog both.

I’m relatively sure this second one is a “repo” or repositioning cruise where the cruise line needs to move a ship to another market where it will cruise locally for several months. Repos tend to be long, include lots of “sea days” when the ship isn’t in port, and are good value on a cost-per-day basis.

Without checking, my guess is our ship spent the summer on the Alaska run and now is headed for Oz and their “down under” spring and summer which is just beginning. We get 24 days aboard and the price is right.
