By contrast, folks are calling what happened in neighboring Minnesota “cold California.” Always a Democrat stronghold, Governor Tim Walz has gone the exact opposite direction. Higher taxes, abortion to the moment of birth, and maybe beyond, legal recreational marijuana, thousands of new government employees, and woke everything, including soft on punishment of crime.
Justice Brandeis called the states “laboratories of democracy.” It would appear we see here the enhanced federalism that he and, much later, COTTonLINE have advocated.
Let states try different paths and see how they turn out. Watch which models attract business investments and population and which lose them.
